ToggleMy Story about Creating a Sustainable Business
You know that moment when you think:
“This coaching thing… I love it. But the business side? It feels like I’m wearing someone else’s clothes.”
I know that moment well.
I once tried to squeeze my gentle, introverted, human-first self into the loud, hustle-heavy world of online marketing.
Spoiler:
It didn’t work
Well, on paper it worked. I got the ‘6-figure success’.
But it didn’t feel good.
And it certainly didn’t feel like me.
I wasn’t born to shout, push, or manipulate.
I was born to hold space, to listen deeply, to question the status quo, and to help people build businesses that reflect their values — not the latest online gimmick.
So if you’ve been trying to “fit in” with mainstream marketing and it just feels… wrong?
If the formulas, blueprints, and pressure to “scale fast” make you want to crawl under a blanket?
If you’ve questioned whether you’re even cut out for running a business because you don’t want to play the loud game?
Let me assure you:
Nothing is wrong with you.
You simply need a business model designed for gentle souls.
I built mine from scratch.
And I’ve helped hundreds of coaches build theirs too.

From Marketing Burnout to the Humane Business Movement
When I started my first online business back in 2006, I followed all the traditional advice.
“Push harder.”
“Optimize everything.”
“Scale or fail.”
“Launch every quarter.”
“Never stop posting.”
I did all of it — and on paper, it worked.
But on the inside, something felt increasingly misaligned.
The more I “fit in,” the more fragmented I felt.
It wasn’t until I allowed myself to unbecome that I found my way back to myself. (one of the reasons I use a mandala for my 7Ps of Humane Marketing Framework, it’s a journey to your center where you first unlearn and then relearn)
This is where the Humane Business Revolution® began.
I realized:
✨ You don’t need to shout to be heard.
✨ You don’t need sleazy tactics to get clients.
✨ You don’t need to scale; you need to align.
✨ You don’t need to be “everywhere”; you need to be yourself.
And once I embraced this, everything shifted:
Clients came more naturally.
Marketing felt easy, and even joyful.
And my business finally supported the life I wanted… not the other way around.
So what are the 6 core principles for building a sustainable coaching business?
These principles are my take on the foundation of building a coaching business that works with your energy, your values, and your life, instead of against them. They guide how I help coaches structure offers, attract clients, and grow sustainably.
1. Clients come from resonance, not chasing.
Attracting clients isn’t about shouting louder or posting more. Clients come when your message is clear, grounded, and authentic. Resonance happens when your offers, story, and communication reflect who you are and the way you want to serve.
When you stop chasing and start expressing your truth, the right clients find you — people who connect with your style, values, and energy. That’s when coaching feels easier, lighter, and infinitely more joyful.
2. Integrity is your strongest marketing strategy.
Marketing from integrity is about showing up consistently, honoring your commitments, and creating offers you truly believe in. It’s not about “being nice” — it’s about being trustworthy and reliable, so clients know exactly what to expect.
When your marketing, pricing, and offers all align with your values, everything becomes smoother: your decisions feel easier, your client relationships deepen, and your business becomes more joyful. Integrity attracts clients, builds trust, and ensures your business grows on solid ground.
3. Your marketing should feel good to you first.
If your marketing feels like a chore, it will never be sustainable , no matter how many “tricks” or formulas you follow. Marketing should feel authentic, and even enjoyable.
4. Build a clear business model, offers, and pricing with the Big Rock / Small Rock framework.
A sustainable business is built on clarity. That means knowing:
- Who you serve (your ideal clients)
- What you offer (your programs, sessions, or packages)
- How you price (so your value is honored and your business is sustainable)
Think of your business like a jar of rocks. The big rocks are your core offers — the primary programs or services that create the most impact and revenue. The small rocks are supporting offers, experiments, or one-off projects that complement your core work.
When you put the big rocks in first, everything else has a place. Your offerings are clear, your pricing makes sense, and your business can grow naturally without chaos. This clarity allows you to attract clients confidently, serve them effectively, and build a coaching practice that supports your life and goals.

5. Systems create freedom
Systems are your friend — when they’re designed to support you, not trap you. Gentle structure gives you clarity, consistency, and calm, so you always know what to do next.
With intentional systems in place, you can manage your marketing, serve clients, and track progress without feeling overwhelmed. Systems also give you space to focus on the work you love and preserve your energy — allowing your business to grow sustainably while you stay grounded.
I’m equal parts right brained and left brained. And I’m a Capricorn, with Cancer Ascendant. I love creativity, but I also love structure. And I love to help coaches create repeatability in their coaching business. And systems are needed for that.
6. Your business should support your life, not take over your life.
Your coaching practice should serve your energy, your rhythm, and your lifestyle. That means setting boundaries, prioritizing your seasons, and making business decisions that align with your values.
When your life leads and your business follows, work becomes joyful, sustainable, and aligned. You’ll have the freedom to rest, reflect, and show up fully for your clients — without burning out or compromising what matters most to you.

What I Believe (and What My Clients Value)
These values guide everything I do:
Agency
I will never tell you what you “must” do.
Instead, I support you in making decisions rooted in your truth so you can create a business that feels like yours (because it is).
Integrity
Authenticity isn’t a marketing tactic.
It’s a way of being.
I say what I mean, and I do what I say. Always.
Gentle Ambition
Ambition isn’t the enemy.
Hustle is.
I help you define success on your terms. And then build a business that lets you reach it without self-betrayal.

FAQ about Coaching for Coaches
Conscious business coaching helps you build a business aligned with your values, intuition, and impact, while traditional business coaching focuses mainly on profit, formulas, and external goals. It prioritizes ethical marketing, sustainability, and personal alignment so your business feels good and grows.
Here are a few powerful questions to ask before you decide:
How do you define success for your clients?
How do you think about marketing and selling?
What happens if a strategy you suggest doesn’t feel right for me?
What kind of clients do you love working with?
Can you share an example of a client whose business you helped simplify or realign, not just “scale”?
You’re not being difficult by asking these. You’re checking that their way of working matches your values, your season of life, and your vision for your business.
A business coach is worth it when the support they offer matches what you truly need right now. If you choose well, coaching can save you years of trial and error, help you design a sustainable business model, and give you compassionate accountability to actually implement.
It may not be worth it if you’re hoping for someone to “fix” your business without your participation, or if you’re pressured into investing money you genuinely don’t have. Look for a coach who talks honestly about risk, enoughness, and pacing, not just big revenue promises.
You might need a business coach if:
You’ve taken courses and read books but still feel stuck or overwhelmed.
Your calendar is full, yet you’re tired and the money doesn’t feel like enough.
You want to grow, but not at the cost of your health, your values, or your integrity.
You know what you could do, but you don’t want to do it the way the online world says you “should.”
If that’s you, conscious business coaching can help you step back, redesign your offers and marketing, and create a business that feels like you – and actually supports you. If you’re simply lacking a few skills (like writing better copy or understanding SEO), then a focused course or training might be enough for now.
